Falling Slowly

American Idol is my guilty pleasure. My favourite song is definitely Falling Slowly which was sung by Kris Allen (I hope he wins!). It was a soundtrack for an Irish movie titled Once (2007), which as usual never made it to our shores. I heard the movie is good! (I always thought that the British & Irish tells the most beautiful stories in their movies).

From what I've read, this movie tells of the life/love story of a busker and an immigrant in Dublin. The song won Best Original Song in the 2008 Oscars. I'm soo getting the DVD! When you're being fed with big budget Hollywood produce daily, its easy to miss the good ones.

I hope you enjoy the original by Glen Hansard/Marketa Irglova and Kris Allen version of the song. I thought they were both sung beautifully.

Who cares if he sings miring2 :p

Why I need a car ASAP

There is nothing worse than waiting for a cab at The Curve, especially on weekends. I have been through this so many times that most of the time I just force myself to drag my lazy bum (and feet) and walk home. Its not even good exercise since after my shopping trips, my bag will be filled with food and I end up gobbling em up to make up for lost calories, and mood. By the time I reach home, I look like something the cat dragged into the house.

So anyways, what these drivers do is park their cabs at the taxi stand (where clearly there is a sign that says no waiting) and refuse to send you anywhere unless to agree to their price. By their price I mean like, RM20 to get to Mont Kiara from the curve or RM35 to go to KL. How ridiculous is that? Are we supposed to pay them for their laziness? I once waited for a cab there and they actually had the nerve to ask me to wait somewhere else because konon2 that place is reserved for hotel guests (Royale Bintang). What a load of doodoo but I didn't have a choice because 10 of them there were quite intimidating.

HB6585 & HBA334. These are the cab numbers of cabs who didn't want to send me to my place which is like 7 minutes away by car and wanted to charge me RM8 if they do. I finally got a cab who used the fare meter and it only cost me RM4 (plus tips; I was really thankful,my PMS cramps was getting bad). To the two cabbies, may karma bites you on your lazy, greedy behind and you won't get any passengers today and tommorow.Make it the rest of next week.

If you ever come across cabbies you are not happy with, heres a link where you can report them in.http://sikap.mecd.gov.my/eaduan/form.php
Not that I am confident that they will do anything about it, but I do have a little bit of faith left.
